NVBAA STEM Education for Nevada’s Under-represented Youth

NVBAA is dedicated to providing unbiased access to high-quality STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Education to underrepresented youth through after school, and summer internship programs throughout the Great State of Nevada.
We  seek your support so that we can continue the growth of our Award-winning, highly effective STEM Education programs, and expand our reach to all K-12 students throughout the Great State of Nevada!

NVBAA’s STEM-BASED Aviation & UAS Education Initiatives result in a National STEM Competition Championship in 2014 & National Top Score in 2015. 
National STEM Competition Aviation Design Challenge Winner announced on May 8, 2014.
For winning this National STEM Competition, the winning team from Sunrise Mountain High School in Las Vegas, Nevada spend 2 week in Arlington, Washington building a real plane (the aircraft in this picture, tail number; N644SP – certified by FAA).

The Aviation Club’s team prize for winning the National STEM Competition was to spend 2 weeks, all-expense-paid, in Arlington, Washington to build a real plane. The attached 2 minute video (top of page) tells this inspiring story about this team of students from a disadvantaged part of Las Vegas, and how they won a National Championship.

NVBAA | Dedicated to providing unbiased access to STEM-based Education in Aviation, Aerospace, and UAS to all youth in Las Vegas, and throughout Nevada.

The Aviation Club is a NVBAA STEM Education Initiative.

The Aviation Club also plans to expand its work with inspired students to help them;

  • Design, build and launch rockets, and build miniature jet engines,
  • Design aircraft in design simulators, and learn about the engineering and science of airplanes
  • Research, build, test and fly UAVs, and explore the vast possibilities in UAS applications,
  • Plus many other community-engagement and outreach activities and workshops!

NVBAA plans to expand its STEM-Education efforts to provide year-round programs to elementary schools, middle schools and high schools throughout Clark County, and the Great State of Nevada.
